HEAD FOR ARTS ACTIVITIES:
îî We all love a good story...
Over the past six months, community arts practitioner Einir Sion, has been unearthing the stories of people and community groups from across the Head of the Valleys area as part of Head for Arts' Fflach/Flash project. Throughout Flach/Flash people have imparted their knowledge of local history, retold local myths and shared their personal memories of growing up in the area. The stories gathered during the project will provide thematic material and inspiration for the creation of a large scale, bilingual community play to be staged in the Eisteddfod Pavillion in Ebbw Vale on 29th July 2010. In total, Einir has worked with over 1,250 people during the project, she described the process as "truly inspirational". She added that:
"The people I have worked with have been incredibly generous in sharing their personal experiences and creative ideas. It's incredible to see and hear how people have dealt with the changing landscape of these valleys, and how the unchaneable hills surrounding them are an integral part of their being."
The stories collected have been recorded through the medium of drama, dance, music, creative writing and digital technology and will be presented in four unique exhibitions and short performances taking place over the next month. Join us at the Fflach/Flash exhibitions to hear stories from your communities and to find out more about how you can be involved in the Eisteddfod Community Play. Fflach/Flash is a bilingual, creative, community project which has been funded by the Arts Council of Wales,Cadw and Herian.
Rydym i gyd yn hoff iawn o stori dda...
Dros y chwe mis diwethaf, bu ymarferydd celfyddydau yn y gymuned, Einir Siôn, yn datguddio hanesion pobl a grwpiau cymunedol o bob ardal Blaenau'r Cymoedd fel rhan o brosiect Fflach/Flash Celf ar y Blaen. Trwy gydol Fflach/Flash, mae pobl wedi cyfrannu eu gwybodaeth am hanes lleol, ailadrodd chwedlau lleol, a rhannu eu hatgofion personol ynglýn â dod i oed yn yr ardal.
Bydd y storïau a gasglwyd yn ystod y prosiect yn darparu deunydd thematig ac ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer creu drama gymunedol ddwyieithog ar raddfa fawr a gynhelir ym Mhafiliwn yr Eisteddfod yng Nglynewy ar 29th Gorffennaf 2010. Yn ystod y prosiect, mae Einir wdi gweithio gyda chyfanswm o dros 1,250 o bobl, proses y mae hi wedi disgrifio fel "ysbrydoliaeth wirioneddol".Ychwanegodd:
"Bu'r bobl sydd wedi gweithio gyda fi yn haelionus dros ben rannu eu profiadau personol a syniadau creadigol. Mae'n anhygoel gweld a chlywed sut mae pobl y cymoedd yma wedi dygymod a'r newid yn tirwedd, a pha mor hanfodol i'w bodolaeth yw'r bryniau di-newid, sy'n eu hamgylchynu."
Recordiwyd y storïau a gasglwyd drwy gyfryngau drama, dawns, cerddoriaeth, ysgrifennu creadigol a thecholeg ddigidol a'u cyflwynir mewn pedwar arddangosfa a pherfformiad byr unigryw a fydd yn digwydd dros y mis nesaf. Ymunwch â ni yn arddangosfeydd Fflach/Flash i glywed storïau o'ch cymunedau ac i ddarganfod mwy am sut y gellwch chi gyfrannu i Ddrama Gymunedol yr Eisteddfod. Cynhelir arddangosfeydd yng Nghanolfan Hamdden Rhyd-y-car ar 28 th Tachwedd, Canolfan Cymunedol Abertyswg a'r Tý Weindio,Tredegar Newydd, ar 5th Rhagfyr, Canolfan Treftadaeth Blaenafon ar 6 th Rhagfyr a'r Sefydliad Glynebwy ar 10 th Rhagfyr. Bydd mynediad i'r arddangosfeydd yn rhad ac am ddim. Prosiect cymunedol, creadigol, dwyieithog yw Fflach/Flash a ariannwyd gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru, Cadw a Herian.
